A.              CALL TO ORDER –

Chairperson Laurie Charron called the meeting to order at 8:36 AM

C.              APPROVAL OF MINUTES –

              1.                            Downtown Development Authority - Regular Meeting - Sep 19, 2017 8:30 AM

D.              REPORTS, RECOMMENDATIONS AND RESOLUTIONS –

              1.              DDA #17-007:               Motion of support for the expense of up to $30,000 out of the Main Street TIF to assist with the cost of the Downtown Lighting Project.

City Manager Freed gave a brief overview of the proposed downtown lighting project.  He mentioned the proposed lights would be attached by custom brackets on the tops each building and on all year long in the evening/night.  The idea is to start with the core of the downtown and then expand the lighting project to other segments.  The proposed lights will be purchased from Bronner’s and will be white LED lights that look old fashioned.  The proposed project is estimating to cost about $70,000 and is being supported by local donations as well as up to $30,000 from the Main Street TIF.  Motion to support for the expense of up to $30,000 out of the Main Street TIF to assist with the cost of the Downtown Lighting Project, follows:

              2.                            Update from DDA Director Watson

·         The Santa Parade is being sponsored by Sperry’s and there is an increase in participants.

·         Small Business Saturday is November 25, 2017, and there is a BINGO game for those interested in participating.

·         DDA Director Watson has been working with the Parks staff to install the last of the lights on the trees downtown. 

·         Bridges Church on 4th Street is going 12 Days of Christmas cards that will be posted in the business fronts downtown.

·         Easements are in process for the downtown lighting project.

·         Preparation for Chillyfest has begun.  Chillyfest is January 26th and 27th, 2018.

Additionally, City Manager Freed mentioned around 200 parking permits have been purchased downtown and he is also working on the parking issue south of the river. 

Chairperson Charron requested DDA Director Watson set up loft tours for the Board.
